CHINA ANTICIPATED THE TARIFF ATTACK BY THE USA....IT WILL (HOPEFULLY) PREVAIL OVER THE US IN THE TRADE WAR.

 

Sylvia Demarest outlines how the USA came to be in the Trade War with China - and how China anticipated and prepared for it, and why the USA will lose.

'In a series of 35 articles over a 3 month period in 2018 China’s Ministry of Science and Technology detailed the country’s weaknesses. Each article discussed a “chokepoint”, a technology or item critical to the Chinese economy that China did not produce and relied on imports to obtain. The series was entitled “What is Choking Us? China had grasped that a trade war was coming and catalogued her own weaknesses. China then set about rectifying those weaknesses and identifying the US’s weaknesses.

What did the US do in response? Nothing except continue to threaten, bully, and try to contain China. Now we find ourselves in a possible trade war with China that the US provoked. What has the leadership of the US, including the government agencies charged with US national security, been doing all these years if the US is unable to produce the inputs and products we need?....Maybe reality has begun to penetrate the skulls of the warmongers and neoconservatives? These thugs have bankrupted the US financially and morally with their ruinous wars and unlimited support for Israeli aggression and genocide in the West Asia. The warmongers are losing the war in Ukraine, Iran has demonstrated resiliency and the ability to fight back, and concern is growing that China has the power to burst the AI bubble in the US.

CHINA....AND WESTERN 'LIBERAL ORIENTALISM'.

  Warwick Powell argues that when we in the west look at China we do so in a patronising way he calls 'Liberal Orientalism'. In doing so we dismiss the Cultural Revolution as an aberration rather than a crucial break with the past. He contrasts China with India - the so-called 'worlds largest democracy' where the form of Government was inherited from British Colonialism and is chaotic. This raises the whole idea of governance. If the aim is effective government, India simply doesn't compare to China.  And so is western democracy the ONLY way in which good governance can be achieved? It clearly is not - especially in the days of mass propaganda dominated by wealth and associated corruption.
