CONFLICTS ESCALATE THROUGHOUT THE WORLD

 

Trump has upped his rhetoric once again on Ukraine - now deciding that Ukraine (and Europe) need 'support', but if you look closely it's only the rhetoric that has changed. Having not made any advance, true to form he resorts to threats. The post by Simplicius below explains things.

But we need to take a step back. The screams of manufactured outrage from Estonia, Poland and now Denmark who claim that Russia is invading their airspace are orchestrated nonsense to stoke up the pressure - and it has predictably worked because such orchestrated propaganda does. The compliant western media does its job to 'manufacture' consent.

Behind all this we have another war in the Middle East developing with round two of Israel against Iran likely. 

We have a US fleet gathering off the coast of Venezuela slaughtering people without warning and accusing them of being drug runners without any evidence at all:  clearly the aim is to threaten and de-stablise Venezuela. 

We have the war in Ukraine with Trump dismissing Russia as a 'paper tiger' - just as in the war of attrition Russia is grinding Ukraine down. 

We have an election in Moldova on Sunday in which 'the west' has invested huge amounts of propaganda to make sure its pro-EU proxy wins by once again rigging the voting process while at the same time blaming Russia for interference. The US National Endowment for Democracy and a raft of NGO's have been operating there for years.

We have the ongoing genocide in Gaza which only armed intervention can stop - and which is why it won't stop. All those western countries that have belatedly recognised Palestine will do nothing to stop the blood shed: it is merely an attempt to give them cover so that when the post-mortems begin they can salve their consciences and perhaps avoid any complicity. Gaza has exposed everything about Western duplicity and hypocrisy. They will blame Israel and Israel will blame Netanyahu - but in reality it is the west and particularly the USA that has given Israel the green light to commit genocide because Israel is the lynchpin in its strategy to continue to exercise power in the Middle East.

Behind all this the START treaty - the only surviving nuclear arms treaty - is due to expire early next year and none of the media in the west or the USA seems to be interested in renewing it.

China has developed a new gold trading system based on the Shanghai Metal Exchange which will allow countries outside of the Euro, Dollar and Pound fiat currencies to trade with each other and so circumvent the use of the worlds reserve currency controlled by the USA. The petro-dollar is disappearing and the USA is drowning in debt.

We have an ever increasing crisis with climate change as attempts to tackle it fall of the agenda under the pressure of failing economies and the threat of war - illustrated by a Labour Government agreeing to another runway at Gatwick airport in contradiction to everything it pledged before it ditched it its 'Green Deal'. As a result it has the lowest ratings it has ever had - and Starmer is just about to be hit with another scandal, hot on the heels of the Mandelsohn debacle, relating to non-declaration of funding by the Electoral Commission. 

Governments in France, Germany and Britain are weak and their economies are performing badly - and yet they all scream in unison that Russia is collapsing when all the evidence points in the opposite direction. They do this - as they do everything else - because they are in panic. And it is panic that can EASILY result in war.

Things are very, very bad - but just as I thought history would likely develop. More overt war is likely. The west cannot accept a defeat in Ukraine. If it is beaten it is finished and therefore it will do eveything - lie (frequently), sabotage (frequently), sanction (everything)  and disrupt (all the time). And finally it will risk war. 

My advice to Russia and China is to stay cool - let them strike the first blow and claim the political and moral high ground. The west has been stripped of its moral, economic and political authority. All it has now is its military.

CHINA....AND WESTERN 'LIBERAL ORIENTALISM'.

  Warwick Powell argues that when we in the west look at China we do so in a patronising way he calls 'Liberal Orientalism'. In doing so we dismiss the Cultural Revolution as an aberration rather than a crucial break with the past. He contrasts China with India - the so-called 'worlds largest democracy' where the form of Government was inherited from British Colonialism and is chaotic. This raises the whole idea of governance. If the aim is effective government, India simply doesn't compare to China.  And so is western democracy the ONLY way in which good governance can be achieved? It clearly is not - especially in the days of mass propaganda dominated by wealth and associated corruption.
